OOTD: Wizard of Oz School Play

Hello everyone! I’m really sorry about not posting last week. I know it’s out of the ordinary for me to not post on schedule, but I had a busy weekend and couldn’t get my blog post up. Today I bring to you an OOTD post. I haven’t done one of these in a while, so I thought it would be fun. Recently I went to go see the production of the Wizard of Oz at my friend’s school that she was a part of, so I thought I would share with you guys what my outfit looked like. Let’s get started!

I like this outfit because it’s more simple, yet girly and a bit dressy while still maintaining casual vibes. It was great for the 70° range weather.

Semi-Sheer Blue Sunflower Tank Top- Kohls, $10

Button-up Jean Skirt- Papaya, $15

Long Silver Sunburst Necklace- Loft, $25

Nude Lace-Up Pointed Toe Flats- Charlotte Russe, $25
That’s all for today’s post! I hope you guys enjoyed it, and see you next time.

Get Ready With Me: Sadie Hawkins Dance

Hey everybody! My school had a Sadie Hawkins Dance last night, so I thought that I would post my outfit, hair, and makeup.  I hope this helps to inspire you guys for any spring dances or formal events you may be going to. Let’s get started!

Outfit:

White, Orange, and Pink Floral High-Necked Dress: Papaya, $21

So my dress is this gorgeous floral dress. I love the high neckline, and the pattern. I was also really happy to get such a nice dress for only $21.

For shoes, I wore these simple white faux-snakeskin almond-toed flats I got from Charlotte Russe, for about $8 ( see my spring haul post for more details)

Hair:

I found this idea for my hair on Pinterest, and I tried it and it doesn’t quite look how it was supposed to, but I think it still looks pretty.

This is what the tutorial is in case you want to try it:

Makeup:

(The second pic is my friend and I but I covered her face for privacy )

Routine-

1: First I primed my face with Maybelline Master Prime Blur+ Redness Control Primer.

2: I applied my foundation, and I used a mixture of L’Oréal Visible Lift Blur Foundation and L’Oréal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation to more accurately match my skin tone.

3: I then applied some eye primer on my eyelids, and some concealer for touch ups all over my face. I also applied some under-eye concealer and set it with elf’s High Definition Undereye Setting Powder to prevent smearing and smudging.

4: Next I applied my Milani Illuminating Face Powder in Hermosa Rose as a bronzer, and added some blush and blended it in.

5: Then I applied some eyeshadow from an elf palette. (I believe I got the palette from Target for about $10) I used a nude, pink glimmer color as a base and applied a metallic copper color to the outer edge of my eyelid, and blended it into the crease.

IMG_6847.JPG

6: I then applied some Maybelline Eyestudio Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black with an angled brush, making it winged.

7: Next I applied some Maybelline Lash Sensational Luscious Full Fan Effect Mascara to my top and bottom eyelashes.

8: Lastly, I finished my makeup look with some Revlon Super Lustrous Pearl Lipstick in Wild Orchid, which is a beautiful pearly bright pink color.

That’s all for today’s post! I hope you guys enjoyed it, and see you next time. And stay tuned, I have some exciting blog posts coming up!

5 Winter Outfit Ideas ❄️

Hello everyone! I haven’t done an outfits post in a while, so I thought I’d share one with you guys today. Here are some ideas for winter outfits. Of course you can try to replicate them, or give them your own personal twist. Here they are!

Outfit 1:

Fuzzy Thick Pale Grey Sweater: Kohls, on sale for $25

High Waisted Pink Jeans: Charlotte Russe, $35

Black Quilted Knee-High Boots: Target, $35

I think is a pretty simple outfit, with a cute girly touch to it. This sweater is super soft and surprisingly thick, so it’s great for wintertime. I am also obsessed with these boots! I’ve worn them nearly everyday since it started getting colder. Also, they’re really cute and I got them for a great price.

Outfit 2:

Mottled Green Mock-Neck Long-Sleeved Thin Sweater: TJ Maxx, $8

Camel Faux Suede Button-Up Skirt: JCPenney’s, $30

Black Tights: Target, $5

Shiny Black Combat Boots: Kohls, on sale for $16

This outfit has a really nice vintage vibe to it, especially with that skirt. The black tights and combat boots give it a bit more edginess. This is definitely an outfit for warmer winter weather, but if it is colder you can always add a leather jacket to spice it up a little and stay warmer.

Outfit 3:

Blue and Red Plaid Crop Top With 3/4 Sleeves: Forever 21, $8

Black Faux Leather Jacket: TJ Maxx, $16

Black Sweater Skirt: Kohls, $30

Black Bow Tights: Loft, $10

Black Combat Boots: same as above

In case you can’t tell, I really love the combo of tights and a skirt with either a sweater or a top and a jacket. This is another more edgy outfit, but the bow tights give it a girly twist. I also think this skirt is awesome because it’s thick knit like a sweater so it’ll protect your legs if they get cold.

Outfit 4:

Black Jeweled Sweater: Kohls, on sale for $25

Jeans: Charlotte Russe, $25

Boots: Same as outfit 1

This is another simple variation of the first outfit, just a sweater with jeans and boots. I really love they sweater because the jewels make it look nice and sophisticated, and you don’t even have to wear jewelry because it already has enough bling.

Outfit 5:

Grey Knit Midi Dress: TJ Maxx, $15

Black Tights: Same as outfit 2

Black Lace-Back Sweater: Papaya, $10

Black Combat Boots: same as outfits  2 and 3

This outfit is a little more dressed up, and the combat boots make it a little more edgy.  But I definitely needed that sweater since this dress is short sleeved.

That’s all for today’s post. I hope these outfits inspired you, and I hope you try some of them out. See you next time!

Get Ready With Me: Homecoming 2015

Hey guys! Last night was my school’s homecoming dance, so I thought I would show you my dress and how I did my hair and makeup. Let’s get started!

Dress- Papaya, $27

Shoes- Charming Charlie’s, $17

I went shopping for a dress last weekend. I was looking for something that was cheap and cute, and that I could wear more than once. The theme for my dance was A Night in the City, and I thought that this dress matched the theme perfectly.

Hair

First I started off by spraying my hair with some heat protectant spray. I then clipped up my two top layers of hair. Next I curled the layers using my Remington Curling Wand (Target, $25). I started at the roots and curled from the middle of the wand to the smaller end. I then re-curled my ends, and sprayed it again with heat protectant spray to keep the curls in for longer.

Makeup

First I applied a matte primer to my face and primed my eyelids. Next I put on my foundation and concealer. Then I used an elf eyeshadow palette (Target, $6) and I applied a shimmery champagne shade all over my lids, up to my eyebrows. Then I applied a shimmery gold shade over my lids. Next I took a matte black shade and blended it at the outer corners of my eyelids.

After that, I used my Nyx Super Skinny Eye Marker (eyeliner) in Carbon Black and drew a medium sized line, adding a flick at the end to make a cat eye.

Next, I applied a medium shade of pink blush to my cheeks to give my face a bit more color.  I then put on my Burt’s Bees Lip Color in Redwood Forest (CVS Pharmacy, $8)

And that completes the look! I hope you guys enjoyed this post, and see you next time!

Fall 2015 Fashion Trends

Hey guys! So lately, I’ve been noticing a few key items that are very trendy this season on social media. I’d like to share them with you so you have some basic fall essentials. (All pictures were found in either Pinterest, Instagram, or Facebook, they’re not my own) Let’s get started!
Trend #1- Long Tan Coats

I think this is an extremely versatile item. You can wear it during fall and winter, and it’s easy to match with due to its neutral color.

Trend #2- Lace-Up Items

This trend has been everywhere lately! I’ve seen it mostly on loose, float tops and dresses, but it’s also popular with shoes. I think it’s very cute and boho.

Trend #3- Plaid Scarves

Plaid is a very stylish pattern this season, and other than with flannel shirts, it’s been very prominent in scarves. It’s a great way to stay stylish and warm.

Trend #4- Dressing Up Ripped Jeans

Ripped or Distressed Jeans tend to come off as very casual pants, but when done the right way, they can be dressed up for many occasions.

Trend #5- Button Up Skirts

You’ve already seen one of these in one of the other pictures, that’s how popular they are. Depending on the material, these can give off a vintage 70’s or 90’s vibe. I think this is a great way to modernize older fashions. It also looks very pretty.

That’s all for today’s post. I hope you guys enjoyed it, and see you next time!

5 Back to School Outfits

Hey guys! Since most of you have already started school, or are very close to starting (I can’t believe I only have one week of summer left!), I decided for my post today, to do one with outfits for back to school. I made these outfits so that they are appropriate for my school’s dress code, but you can adjust them how you wish. I think all of these outfits are good ideas for the first day of school, or if you want to dress up a bit more. I hope these outfits inspire you for back to school. Let’s get right into the post.

Outfit #1

IMG_4129

Yellow Chevron Textured Mock-neck Crop Top- Kmart, $15

Beige and Maroon Floral Hooded Cardigan- Kmart, $23

Ripped Knee Light Wash Jeans- Charlotte Russe, $35

Sperry Boat Shoes- Ross, $45

I love how cute and casual this outfit is. It’s very modern and stylish. When I saw this top in the store, I really wanted it even though they didn’t have my size, so I just got the smallest one. That’s why the top isn’t really cropped on me, even though its a crop top. I think these are very nice colors for transitioning into fall from summer, and the sweater is nice if it’s a little chilly inside your school.

Outfit #2

IMG_4150

IMG_4151

Sheer Floral Peasant Top- JCPenney’s, $34

Brown Faux Suede Button-Up Skirt- JCPenney’s, $30

Floral Socks- Target, $5

Brown Lace Up Ankle Boots- Target, $25

This outfit is very 70’s inspired. This type of look is going to be very trendy in the fall. I’ve seen lots of people wearing button up skirts like this, but I’ve seen denim ones and I don’t really like denim skirts but this faux suede one is super soft and versatile. I think this outfit is very girly and pretty if you feel like dressing up a bit more. This is personally my favorite outfit from this post. I really think the socks add a nice touch. They’re kind of scalloped at the top so it’s even more girly.  I think the top and skirt pair very well together, but the top is super flowy and it covered the top of the skirt, but I wanted to show off the skirt so I just tucked in the top.

Outfit #3

IMG_4165

Gray Knit T-Shirt Dress- TJ Maxx, $17

Black Studded Gladiator Sandals- Steinmart, $35

This dress is super comfortable. It’s easy to throw on if you’re in a rush. I love how it falls below the knees so you can’t get in trouble for it being too short. It’s also kind of loose so it won’t get you in trouble for it being too tight either. Another great thing id you can wear this when it starts getting colder. You can just add some cute tights, combat boots, and a leather jacket to make an edgy look for cooler weather.

Outfit #4

IMG_4166 IMG_4081

Striped Long Sleeved Shirt- Sears, $12

Plaid Flannel Button Up Shirt- Marshalls, $15

Black Skinny Jeans- Ross, $13

Black and White Nike Free Runs- Nike Outlet, $75

This is definitely a more casual outfit. This is something I might wear if I have gym, or I don’t feel like dressing up much, but I still want to look cool. I’ve seen the striped t-shirt under a plaid flannel all over Pinterest and Instagram, and I think it’s an effortless way to look stylish.

Outfit #5

IMG_4167

Red Jacket with Shoulder Pads- Macy’s, $24 on sale

Black and Cream Sheer Grid T-shirt- Ross, $10

Light Acid Wash High-Waisted Jeans- Charlotte Russe, $35

Black Combat Boots- Kohl’s, $16 on sale

I think this is a very nice feminine, sophisticated looking outfit. I love how the combat boots give this an edgy kick. This would look really nice with a cute statement necklace, and you could always exchange the boots for some black flats. I’ll probably wear this outfit to my school’s open house so I can hopefully make a good first impression on my teachers.

That’s all for today’s post! I hope you guys were inspired by my outfits for some of your own. I hope you guys enjoyed this post, and see you next time!

OOTW: Vacation Outfits

Hey guys! I got back from my beach vacation a few days ago so today I thought that I would show you the outfits I wore there. I hope I can inspire you with my style. Let’s get started!

Outfit 1:

Black and White Floral Knit Kimono: Kohls, $25
Black Crop Top: Ross, $7
White Super High-Waisted Scalloped Shorts: TJ Maxx, $15
Black Studded Gladiator Sandals: Steinmart, $30
I wore this outfit on the day that we drove down to the beach. It’s very comfortable and stylish, and it would probably be great for a flight too. The kimono can keep you warm if it’s a little chilly or windy outside somewhere, and it adds a nice girly element to the outfit, which looks great with the edgy shoes.

Outfit 2:

Black Floral Skater Dress: Kohls, $28
Rose Gold Sandals: Kmart, $10
I think this dress has a very cute, vintage vibe to it. It has spaghetti straps, so I wore it on a day where we went to the beach for a few hours and I just wore my bikini under it. I also love the rose gold sandals with this dress because they bring out the pinky undertones in the floral print and really upgrade the outfit.

Outfit 3:

Navy Blue Tank Top: Target, $13
Blue and White Striped Printed Flared Leg Pants: Marshalls, $7
This outfit is more bohemian than the first couple. The top is a bit cropped, but it’s not that noticeable. These pants are super soft and comfortable, and they don’t overheat you on a hot summer day. I didn’t really have any shoes that matched, so I just paired this outfit with a silver glittery pair of flip flops.

Outfit 4:

Pink Daisy Printed Lace Topped Peplum Top: Papaya, $15
White Capris: JCPenney, $18
This is a slightly more fancy outfit, because we went to a more formal restaurant for dinner on this day. This top is pretty and comfortable, and it looks very nice and sophisticated with these pants. Again, I just slid on the glittery silver flip flops for this outfit.

Outfit 5:

Black Embroidered Tasseled Short Sleeved Kimono: Cato, $20
Royal Blue T-Shirt: JCPenney, $8
Blue Frayed-Edge Jean Shorts: American Eagle, $35
This outfit is pretty casual. The kimono is kind of sheer, so it’s nice and thin and isn’t hot on. I also had a simple turquoise pair of flip flops on with it. This is a more simple outfit, and I wore it when we went to see the wild horses in Corolla.

That’s all for today’s post! I hope this inspired you. I also hope you enjoyed this post, and see you next time!

OOTN: Dinner Out With Family(+ makeup)

Hello everyone! Tonight I wanted to show you what I wore out to dinner with family for my brother and my aunt’s birthday. I also wanted to show you my makeup for the night because I thought it looked fantastic. So here it is!

Black and White Sheer Geometric T-Shirt: TJ Maxx, $13

Black Lace Floral Skirt: TJ Maxx, $15

Black Bow Flats: Charming Charlie’s, $17

This is a simple, classic color combination and I think it makes the outfit look very sophisticated.
Makeup:

For my makeup, I went for a more 1960’s inspired look because that is one of my favorite fashion decades and I thought it would look really nice.

For my face, I just applied foundation and some concealer where it was needed. Then, I lightly contoured my cheeks using Elf Sunkissed Glow Bronzer, and lightly brushed and blended this bronzer up the bridge of my nose and up through the middle of my forehead to make me have a more natural sun kissed look.

For the eyes, I first put a nude primer on. Then I put on a neutral shade of eye shadow that matches my skin. Next, I put on a shimmery nude color eyeshadow on the outer edge of my eyelids.

After applying the eyeshadow, I took some black liquid eyeliner and starting from the inner corner of my upper eyelid, lined along my eyelashes, making the middle and end of the line thicker as I went along. I then extended the line a bit past the eyelid, and brought it around the outer eve of my eye and lined I little bit under my bottoms lash line, making sure to leave space on the inner lash line area. You could use a white eyeliner pencil to line the bottom lash line to dramatize the look a bit, but I didn’t have one so I couldn’t. Finally, I applied two layers of Estée Lauder’s Lash Volumizing Mascara to my top and bottom lashes.

For my lips, I wanted to go with a peachy-nude color but I didn’t really have one that sufficed, so I layered two lipsticks to get my desired color.

I first put on the darker color, which was Ulta’s Pink Sunset. I then layered a lighter pink over top of it, which was Nyx’s Strawberry Milk.

Here are the eyes in more detail:

That’s all for today’s post! I hope you guys enjoyed it, and see you next time.
