Ipsy Unboxing: March 2016 ☘

Hi everybody! I received my ipsy bag fairly early this month, on the 10th I believe, so I come to you guys today with my ipsy unboxing for the month of March. This is only my second month using this subscription service, and I already love it. If you don’t know what Ipsy is, it’s a website where you take a little quiz (to get information like eye color, hair color, what skin problems you have, etc.) then by just paying $10 a month, you get a little bag with personalized sample products in it. Ipsy also tends to have more full sized products in it. It comes once a month, about mid-month, and you get 5 samples in it to try out. I think this is a super cool idea if you want to try more beauty products, hair products, skin products, and more, especially higher-end ones, but don’t want to shell out a lot of money for it if you don’t know how it works.

Now let’s get into my post!

So from following Ipsy on Instagram, I saw that they came out with 3 colors of Ipsy bags for March and I got the green and red-orange one. It’s a pretty basic bag, with a rose pattern and a simple material. The theme for this month was hello spring, since spring is coming up and that excited me for some new (hopefully) brightly colored products.

The first thing I got in my Ipsy bag is this Nourishing Argan Oil of Morocco 3 Day Smoothing Cream by Marc Anthony. I had heard great thing about this brand before, and I had yet to receive a hair product in my Ipsy bag so I was super excited to try this. And I absolutely love it! It claims to smooth and almost straighten hair for up to three days. I used this how the directions said, and I was amazed at the results. My hair has a bit of a natural wave to it, but it isn’t near curly. When I used this, I noticed that my hair was much straighter than usual. I don’t know how it would work on people with wavier or curly hair, but for this purpose it works wonderfully for me. It also hydrates my hair, making it look as if I got it styled and washed at a salon. It made my hair very glossy and smooth. And since I have moderately thick, long hair, my hair tends to feel heavy, but this made my hair feel lightweight. Since this product worked so well for me, I decided to look up how much a full prices size would be because it would be something I would purchase myself. I was expecting it to be expensive, but I was surprised at how affordable it is. It retails for about $8 at full size, and is sold in Ulta and Rite-Aid. Overall, this is a really great product I would recommend to almost everyone, and especially for people who have dry hair and split ends.

The next thing I recieved was this Evologie Intensive Blemish Serum. I have extremely sensitive skin, and I didn’t know how I would react to it, so sadly I couldn’t use this and had to pass it along to someone else.

The third item in my Ipsy bag was this Mannakadar Beauty Eyeshadow in Fantasy. I had never heard of this brand before, but I was pleasantly surprised. It’s a pressed eyeshadow, which I prefer way more than loose powders, and it’s a gorgeous shimmery nude color. It’s extremely pigmented, in the swatch above I only swiped it on once. And it feels like a very nice, high quality product. I like how universal this color is, and you can wear it everyday.

Lip and Cheek Pencil by  Nude Stix in Mystic

I was interested in this product at first, since I had never tried anything like this before. But when I swatched it, I could already tell I didn’t like it. The color is very nice, but it has a formula that I absolutely hated for some reason. I would not recommend this to be used on the cheeks, because this has a formula that just seems like it should go on the lips. It’s a very thick, heavy, sticky, nondrying product. The color is gorgeous, but there’s nothing else I liked about it. It doesn’t seem like a lipstick to me, but it’s unlike any lip product I’ve ever used. It never fully dries on the lips like lipstick does, and is very sticky on the lips. Overall, I’m pretty disappointed with this product (honestly I threw it away after the first use), but Ipsy is about trying new products.

Nyx Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Pink Lust/ Passion Rose.

This last product was the one I was most excited for. I’ve been wanting to try some of Nyx’s new lip products for a while, so when I saw this I was psyched. I know that this is a very affordable product, ranging from about $3-5 in CVS Pharmacy so I love that I got the chance to try it out before buying it without knowing how it works on me. I love Nyx’s original cream lipsticks, so I was hoping that this would have a similar formula. It’s a beautiful bright pink color, great for spring and summer. It’s very creamy, and easy to apply. It only took one application to get the perfect pigmentation. After about 4 hours, it gets a bit drying but that’s not anything major since most lipsticks do that anyway. Then after about 6 hours, it starts flaking towards the inner parts of the lips, but it can be easily reapplied. Overall, this is a beautiful product I would definitely buy with my own money.

That’s all for my March Ipsy! I hope you guys enjoyed this post, and see you next time.

elf Brush Set Review

Hey everyone! Recently I recieved a brush set from a friend by one of my favorite makeup brands, elf, so I was excited to try it out. I don’t have that many brushes, so having more for many different purposes is very helpful. I decided to review this brush set for you guys today. Hopefully i will have more exciting posts coming up with the approach of spring and warmer weather, so be prepared for that. Let’s get started!

This was the packaging for the brush set. It was probably sold around Christmas time and meant for that purpose, as a gift.

It included: an angled blush brush, an eyeshadow brush, a blending (eye) brush, a powder brush, brush cleaner, an eyeliner brush, a total face brush, a crease brush, and a concealer brush. I think this is a nice variety of brushes, and it was clever to include the brush cleaner.
1- Angled Blush Brush

The box said that this is a great brush for any type of powder makeup, but since it’s angled, it’s best for bronzer for me. Its size allows for precise, pigmented application, especially around the cheek area. This would be great for contouring, but I mainly use it for my cheeks.

2- Eyeshadow Brush

I already have quite a few eyeshadow brushes, but this is my new favorite because of its unique size and shape. Most eyeshadow brushes I have seen and used are rounded, so I like how this one is shorter and wider. This allows for the eyeshadow to reach most of the eyelid without multiple applications. It’s also easy to blend with if you’d like.

3- Blending Eye Brush

I have a blending eye brush very similar  to this one, but I like having multiple because they can get dirty quickly. I think this is a fantastic brush for blending eyeshadow in the crease and blending out for a softer edge. This is pretty similar to the crease brush in this set, so I personally would only use one or the other.

4- Powder Brush

Since I use the angled blush brush for bronzer, I use this one for blush. It has very good, pigmented application and the bristles are sturdy.

5- Brush Cleaner

I absolutely love this brush cleaner. I already had some prior to getting this set, but I was running so I was excited to receive some more. This is great to clean all brushes, except for beauty blenders/sponges. It’s a faster alternative to soap and water, the only thing is that it’s difficult to clean brushes you used with liquid foundation, but if put more effort into it, the brush will be mostly clean. Another great thing is that this is a relatively cheap product, about $3-6 alone, and can be found in drugstores like CVS Pharmacy.

6- Eyeliner Brush

This is a great eyeliner brush, not stiff but not too soft. Forms a great line, but I have found it easier for me to use an angled eyeliner brush. That may just be personal experience. It’s easy to control, and use with gel eyeliner.

7- Total Face Brush

This is a great brush to use if you use powder foundation, or perhaps to set your makeup with translucent setting powder. I use this to lightly dust over my liquid foundation to blend it in and get rid of any streaks, because it’s way better than using my fingers. The only downside to this brush is that it occasionally sheds a few bristles.

8- Crease Brush

I didn’t think this brush was particularly remarkable, it’s pretty easy to blend with for eye makeup but it’s nothing too exciting.

9- Concealer Brush

I was open to trying a new concealer brush, and I love this one. It has a small, structured size and it’s really easy to blend with. It’s great for using to cover up that acne that spots up every once in a while. I really like the small, unique size, it leads to more precise application.

Overall, I think this is a great brush set by an affordable brand. If you’re a beginner with makeup or just looking for something new to try, I would recommend this to you.
That’s all for today’s post! I hope you gush enjoyed it, and see you next time.

Ipsy Unboxing|February 2016!

Hey guys! So a few days ago I got my first Ipsy bag and I was so excited. If you don’t know what that is, it’s a website where you take a little quiz (to get information like eye color, hair color, what skin problems you have, etc.) then by just paying $10 a month, you get a little bag with personalized sample products in it. I love how affordable this service is. So since I got this subscription, I will do a post on it reviewing the products each month, starting with this month’s. If you’d like to subscribe or just check Ipsy out, you can do so here. Now let’s get into today’s post!

So this is what this month’s bag looks like:

IMG_6362

IMG_6364

The front has a bumpy texture, and the image of a pixelated letter with a heart on it, which is super cute for Valentine’s Day. And the bag is just a glossy, hot pink color. I can definitely see myself using this for travelling and carrying my makeup or other products.

The theme this month is Pretty in Ipsy Pink, which is obviously for Valentine’s Day. So most of the products in my bag are pink themed.

IMG_6366.JPG

The first product in my bag was this Luxie Small Tapered Blending Eye Brush. This is a very nice brush. The color scheme is really cute, and the bristles are soft. I already have a couple of eye blending brushes, but I like this one a lot more and I probably will use it more since it’s more high-quality than the ones I already own.

IMG_6367

IMG_6369.JPG

The second product in my Ipsy bag is this Naked Cosmetics Loose Mica Pigment.

This doesn’t really have a specific color name or anything, but I would describe it as this beautiful glittery champagne shade. It’s a pretty neutral color, so it works on all skin tones and all eye colors. This is extremely pigmented but easily blendable, and it looks like something I could wear everyday. The only thing that I don’t like about this (and it’s pretty minor) is the fact that it’s not a pressed powder eye shadow. I’m just not a particularly neat person, and knowing my luck, I would spill this all over the floor and myself, so I just have to be careful with this.

IMG_6370.JPG

The third thing I received was this Perfectly Posh Look Natural Best Face Forever Exfoliating Daily Facewash. I love this stuff! When you first smell it, it smells pretty strongly of mint which made me a bit of nervous because I don’t particularly like a very strong mint smell, but when used it has a nice fresh scent of mint that isn’t too strong with grapefruit undertones.  This is very nice , it’s probably my favorite product I got this month even though it doesn’t really go with the theme this month. It’s extremely refreshing, and leaves my skin feeling renewed.

IMG_6375IMG_6373IMG_6372

The fourth thing I received in my Ipsy bag is the Mr. Write (Now) Eyeliner Crayon in Jac by The Balm Cosmetics.

I saw a lot of other Ipsy unboxings where many people got this same eyeliner (but in different colors) and there were mixed reviews so I was excited to try this out for myself. One thing I really like about this is that it’s a screw-up eyeliner so you don’t have to sharpen it. It has great pigmentation and staying power, and the bronzy-brown color is a nice neutral eyeliner color that goes quite well with my dark brown eyes. Another thing I like is that the formula is sort of creamy, but it dries very quickly so you don’t run the risk of messing up your eye shadow.

IMG_6378IMG_6381

The final item in my Ipsy bag is the trèStique Baby Blush Stick in Bora Bora Coral.  I was a bit frightened of this color because it looked very bright, but when swatched it’s a beautiful coral color and it blends very easily. This is something that I would wear every day in the  spring or summertime. The only thing I don’t really like about this is that I feel like this isn’t a universally flattering color for all skin tones, but I can’t be sure.

That’s all I got in my Ipsy bag for February 2016! I hope you guys enjoyed this post and see you next time!

January Favorites

Hello everybody! Today I have a post for you sharing my favorite things from this month. Depending on when I get my first Ipsy bag, I will either do a Ipsy unboxing or an every day makeup look so stay tuned for that. Let’s get started with today’s post!

Music

Lately I’ve been listening to music from my childhood. I don’t know why, it’s probably just a weird phase I’m going through, but I’ll share it with you all.

Alternative/Pop:

  • Shakira’s Laundry Service album
  • Rihanna’s Good Girl Gone Bad:Reloaded album
  • Taylor Swift’s Fearless album

Books

I only have one recommended book from this month, but it’s really good so I would definitely check it out if I were you.

Beauty Queens by Libba Bray

IMG_6318.JPG

This book is really good, one of the best I’ve read in a while. The author has an amazing satirical, sarcastic, and witty sense of humor which makes the book so much better.

Summary:

The fifty contestants in the Miss Teen Dream Pageant thought this was going to be a fun trip to the beach, where they could parade in their state-appropriate costumes and compete in front of the cameras. But sadly, their airplane had another idea, crashing on a desert island and leaving the survivors stranded with little food, little water, and practically no eyeliner. What’s a beauty queen to do? Continue to practice for the talent portion of the program- or wrestle snakes to the ground? Get a perfect tan- or learn to run wild? And what happens when the sexy pirates show up?

TV/Movies

One of my favorite TV shows right now is Pretty Little Liars. Season 6 has recently begun, but I started at the beginning so I’m around the end of season 3. I’m recording it to watch later. This show has mystery, drama, and romance, so it’s good for teenagers or for anyone who’s looking for a new series to watch.

Beauty/Makeup

IMG_6307

Milani Illuminating Face Powder in Hermosa Rose

This product says that it’s a 3-in-1 bronzer, blush, and highlighter and it looks like it but when used on me, it’s basically just a bronzer. I’m not sure if that’s just because of my skin tone or the fact that I bought the more peachy shade, but I’m happy with it because I needed a new bronzer anyway and this works really well.

IMG_6313IMG_6312

Too Faced Melted Liquid Lipstick in Ruby

I absolutely love this! This is my first higher-end lip product I’ve ever tried, and it’s incredible. I heard all sorts of great things about this, and they’re all true. It can be a bit drying if you keep it on for a very long time, so make sure to keep your lips hydrated. I wore this one school day and even ate with it on, and it stayed on all day. After eating, I did have to reapply a bit but only on the inner lip area. If you want a  good lip product that will stay on for a very long time, this is great. It retails for about $24. The only thing is with this color, it applies as a hot pink shade, and becomes red with more coats, as you can probably see on the white applicator part in the picture.

Others

3 set of candles from Costco, $15

First off, I love these because they are full sized candles. I got them for the price of $15, which would be the price for just one of these candles in a different store. These all have different scents, that are amazing. The packaging of the candles in super cute, and I love how they come with boxes in case you want to give them as gifts.

The green one is called Sandalwood Amber, and the description for the smell is: Warm sandalwood infused with rich amber add a heartwarming and welcoming feel of comfort to your surroundings.

This candle has a more subtle, earthy scent to it, almost masculine. It’s great for a living room/family room, or if you want to burn a candle that doesn’t have a ‘girly’ scent. It smells very fresh.

The orange and yellow candle is Pear Cider, and the description for this one is: Warm apple cider, cinnamon and ginger are blended with ripe pears to fill your home with this luscious fragrance.

This candle is wayyy stronger than the previous one. It doesn’t smell bad, but the spice scents are almost overpowering, with fruity undertones. It sort of reminds me of fall, and Christmas time, so it would be good to burn during the colder seasons.

And lastly, the purple candle is called Cranberry Pomegranate, and the description is: Splashes of cranberries and acai berries are blended with juicy pomegranate to gently infuse your home with the freshness of nature.

This candle reminds me of berries in the fall. It’s very strong with the cranberry scent, and it does smell like a more girly scent.

That’s all for today’s post. I hope you guys enjoyed it, and see you next time!

Some little things…

Hello everyone! Today I’m trying something a little bit different. I wanted to just post some types of things that are either other blogs that I love to look at to make me happy, funny YouTube videos, etc. I wanted to post something that may cheer you up if you’re having a bad day, or if you’re looking for some other blog to check out or anything like that. Let me know if you like this kind of post, and I’ll try to think outside of the box and do little different things like this for you guys. Let’s get started!
Other blogs I really like:

Note- I’m not necessarily trying to promote anyone, and I haven’t been paid to do so. I just want to share some blogs that I enjoy.

http://casuallyalluring.com
This blog is great. The author uses very descriptive, helpful, language and they seem to be a very friendly person.

http://polishedbyamy.com
I love this blog because it has nail art and beauty. The nail art designs are very intricate and beautiful, and the author is a very nice person as well.

http://theclassifiedchic.com
This blog is great if you’re looking for something that is more fashion related. The writer has a very detailed and sophisticated way of writing that is easy to understand.

Some funny YouTube videos

http://youtu.be/a4Qelgln8M8

This was absolutely hilarious and i was not expecting it. Great if you need a quick pick-me-up. But warning, she curses kind of a lot.
http://youtu.be/NKd2uajYS-8
Cheat day is a funny show by clevverTV on YouTube where the people basically eat really weird things. If you have a weak stomach, then you might not be able to watch these but they are really funny.

http://youtu.be/Gxp_grZZMY8
ClevverTV has an offshoot channel/internet show called beauty break which is an awesome channel. It helps with some beauty things but a lot of the episodes end up as hilarious failures. This is one of the funniest ones.

I know this doesn’t seem like much, but I’m just testing this type of post out so let me know if you like it. See you guys next time!

New Year/Winter Haul 2016

Hello everyone. I had been planning a haul post as well as a shopping trip for a while now, and someone told me that the mall I was going to was having great sales from after Christmas, so I bought quite a bit of stuff. I suprisingly didn’t get any clothing or makeup for Christmas, but I got a lot of money and gift cards from distant relatives so I went shopping with some friends and bought some things that I’ll be showing you today.  I haven’t done a haul post in a while now, and it’s one of my favorites so I’m pretty excited for this one.

Side note: About 1 1/2 to 2 weeks ago, I recieved a few hurtful comments on my blog. I just wanted to let you all know that altough it didn’t bother me all that much, I’d like to keep my blog a positive place. And if you think I’m not doing something well, I’d appreciate it if you’d tell me in a constructive, supportive way instead of insulting me because I really work hard and try my best for my blog posts. And don’t be afraid to suggest something for me to change, I won’t be offended and I would like more chances to improve my blog as much as possible. With that being said, let’s get started with this haul.

Aeropostale

I had an Aeropostale gift card that my friend gave me a while back, and I remembered it so I ordered a couple things online.

Black Patterned Tasseled Scarf- originally $20, on clearance + an extra 30% off clearance items. Final price: $7

Navy Blue Henley Shirt With Light Gray Flowers- originally $25, on clearance + an extra 30% off clearance items. Final price: $5

Kohls

Fuzzy Thick Light Gray Sweater- on sale for $25

Super Soft Green and White Sweater (this is literally the softest sweater I’ve ever felt)- on sale for $20

Green Peter Pan Collar Polka Dotted Sweater- on sale for $30

Black Polka Dotted Floral Bag- on sale for $35

Red Chunky Knit Throw- $30

This blanket is great because it’s essentially a sweater but it’s big enough to cover your whole body. It’s very soft, and makes your room look cuter too.

Mistletoe and Holly Candle- on sale for $10

I bought this candle after Christmas, so since it’s a Christmas themed candle it’s was on sale for a really good price. I usually don’t buy candles that often even though I love them, because they can be really expensive but the sale price for this made it worth it. I also thought the glass part was really pretty, I like the color and style. This candle has a nice, classic, Christmas tree scent which is one of my favorite smells. It’s very subtle, but still noticeable enough to make a whole room smell nicer.

Target

Camel Colored Knit Cardigan- on sale for $20

Black Velvet Detail Tank Top- $20

The first picture is more accurate to the color of the garment, and in the second picture I had the flash on to depict the pattern more clearly. I thought that this was a really unique item of clothing and I have never seen something like this before. I think this would be great for layering under a cardigan like the one above. It also came in a maroon shade, and it was kind of hard for me to choose between the two but I wear black way more often plus it matches more, so I went for the black one.

Black, Gray, and Red Sweater Dress- $25

Before this, I didn’t own any sweater dresses but I thought they were really adorable and versatile for winter, so I went ahead and bought this one. I like how this one is pretty long compared to others I’ve seen. It comes about mid thigh and it’s super thick and warm, perfect with tights and boots on a cold winter day.

True Love Candle- $3

This is one of the candles that Target had in their dollar section. I believe that it came out as a Valentine’s Day candle. It also has a subtle fragrance. It smells fresh, but in a girly way.

Bath and Body Works

Peppermint Marshmallow Candle- on sale for $8

I only got this one thing at Bath and Body Works because on the day I went, they had just gotten their new stuff in so there wasn’t much of a sale. However, they had a small sale area where I found this candle. I think the red bumpy glass container for this candle is very pretty and decorative. The name is pretty self explainitory, because this candle perfectly embodies the scents of peppermint and marshmallows. This is a perfect holiday candle.

Sephora

Too Faced Melted Liquid Lipstick in Melted Ruby- around $23

I don’t typically shop in Sephora, just because I don’t have a job so I don’t usually have enough money to buy any products from there. I went in just to look but when I saw these I knew I had to get one. I hear and see great things about the Melted Liquid Lipsticks all of the time, so I wanted to see just how great they are. (Even when I was in the store another customer recommended them to me!) The color is beautiful. If you want to reach the color of the tube and box, you would have to layer the product a bit but it’s beautiful either way. It has incredible staying power. I wore it to school on a day that my lips were a bit dry, and it didn’t dry my lips or any more which is great. I removed it before eating just in case because I didn’t know if it would stay on, or possibly stain my skin or what. I still have to test it some more to see if it does stay on while eating, etc but this is definitely highly recommended from me.

Forever 21

Emerald Green V Neck Sweater- $20

This sweater has a gorgeous color. I bought it a couple sizes too large because it was the last one and I like my sweaters to be oversized, so the neckline goes kind of deep but it’s fine if I layer a shirt underneath. It’s very thick and soft, great for a casual day at home or a cold day out.

Light Aquamarine Faux Suede Skirt- $15

I saw a lot of suede skirts in Forever 21, but I loved this one because I thought the shade of blue-green was very unique. This skirt is good for if you want to be a little bit dressier but not too much. I already have a brown faux suede skirt but that one had buttons down the front so I thought it would be nice to have some variety.

Black Floral Pencil Skirt- $16

This skirt is pretty formal looking. It would probably be good to wear to work if you have a job. I like the vintage sort of feel it has.

Black Long Sleeved Chiffon Shift Dress with Yellow and Orange Flowers- $18

I absolutely adore this dress! It’s another item that has a sort of vintage vibe to it. It’s very flowy and loose, and I love the long sleeves because most dresses are short sleeved. I think this looks cute paired with black tights and combat boots for an edgy twist.

That’s all for today’s post. I hope you guys liked it, and see you next time!

It’s Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini

I actually watched the movie of this before, without realizing it was based off of a book, so when I saw it in the library, I knew I had to read it. This book is very funny and extremely well-written. However, it was very different from the movie, but they were both really good.
Summary:

Ambitious New York City teenager Craig Gilner is determined to succeed at life- which means getting into the right high school to get into the right college to get the right job. But once Craig aces his way into Manhattan’s Executive Pre-Professional High School, the pressure becomes unbearable. He stops eating and sleeping until, one night, he nearly kills himself. Craig’s suicidal episode gets him checked into a mental hospital, where his new neighbors include a transsexual sex addict, a girl who has scarred her own face with scissors, and the self-elected President Armelio. There, Craig is finally able to confront the sources of his anxiety.

Beauty

Maybelline Color Sensational Matte Lipstick in Ruby Red, Ulta- $8.30

I am super stoked about this lipstick! I bought it because I need more reds and darker shades of lipstick since I have so many pink, coral, and mauve like shades. This lipstick is one you can typically but at any drugstore, and it’s really good quality. This is the best red lipstick I’ve ever used, as well as the best matte lipstick I’ve ever used.  I wore this to school one day, and I can’t believe how incredible it looked. It did stay on all day for about 7-8 hours (of course I had to reapply after lunch, but only on the part of my lips close to the inside of my mouth. ) Just one thing about this- if you rub your lips on down thing by accident-like if you brush you hand against your lips- it will leave a bit of a smear, but will not rub off your lips. Also, for a matte lipstick, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that at the end of the day, it hasn’t even dried out my lips like most matte lipsticks do. Overall, this type of lipstick is great for everyone.

Covergirl Star Wars Collection Lipstick (Shade 50), CVS Pharmacy, $8.30

So I’ve seen this lipstick around a lot, and I really wanted to get it, so I saved up some extra money and bought it. Personally, I really love purple and berry toned lipsticks, so when I saw this I fell in love. When I swatched it on my arm, it had a more plum-like pigment to it which is great, but when applied, it has more blue tones, more similar to the actual color on the tube. Another thing I noticed was that the lipstick looks a bit shimmery, but when applied the shimmer is subtle and unnoticeable. This is a great color for the wintertime, and a beautiful purple lipstick overall.

Maybelline Brow Drama Eyebrow Mascara, CVS Pharmacy- $9

So I bought this product a few months ago, and I did a review on it saying that I didn’t like it, but I was using it wrong at the time. Once I figured out how to use it, I actually like it. This is good for people who want their eyebrows to look better but aren’t good at filling them in, or still want them to look natural. This product makes your eyebrows look good without looking like you put too much effort into it.

That’s all for my November favorites. I hope you enjoyed this post, and see you next time!

Pinterest: Popular Halloween Makeup Ideas

Hello everyone! Today I wanted to share with you some popular Pinterest makeup ideas for Halloween. Some of these are a little more complex than others, but others can be easily created with already owned makeup. This post will hopefully help you guys if you’re trying to figure out a costume in the short time we when since Halloween is on Saturday. Most of these are easy to match outfits with with already owned clothing. Also, I have an exciting new type do pair planned for next week or the week after that hopefully, so stay tuned for that! Now let’s get started! Disclaimer- none of these photos are owned by me, I found them all on Pinterest so I’m not taking credit for them.

1- Doe/Deer

The doe is a very popular makeup look for those who are looking for something a little more cute and less creepy. It’s also very easy to create- you just need white eyeshadow, black eyeliner, brown eyeshadow and or bronzer, black lipstick if you would like and you could add or take away what ever you wanted. This is also a thing very easy to match clothes with, you could wear a brown dress or top and pants.

2- Sugar Skull

The sugar skull is probably the most trendy look I found. Even my art teacher said she is going to be a sugar skull for Halloween.  This is another easy look to create. These stick with the same general  design, just with different colors. You really only need white Halloween makeup as a base, and eyeliner and maybe another color eyeliner or eyeshadow or even Halloween makeup to make the designs in other colors.

3- Creepy Dolls

This is a more girly look, but it looks very creepy at the same time. To make this look, you just need to make your eyes look overly large,  and add a pink lipstick and some blush. You can also add cracks with black eyeliner if you want to be a broken doll.

4- Comic Book Character

This is definitely a more time consuming look. It is pretty simple though. You just outline parts of you face and collarbone in black eyeliner, and create white dots on your face with white face paint. Then you can make tears beneath your eyes if you’d like. Next put red lipstick on your lips and create a white highlight.

5- Clown

I, personally, think clowns are scary so these looks are the scariest ones in this post to me. This one is also pretty easy. Apply black eyeshadow ok your eyelids and make it drape down into a line to your cheeks. Then make a red dot on your nose. Next put on red lipstick on your lips and extend the lines so it goes out to your clementines and outline it in black.

That’s all for today’s post. I hope you guys enjoyed it, and see you next time!

Get Ready With Me: Homecoming 2015

Hey guys! Last night was my school’s homecoming dance, so I thought I would show you my dress and how I did my hair and makeup. Let’s get started!

Dress- Papaya, $27

Shoes- Charming Charlie’s, $17

I went shopping for a dress last weekend. I was looking for something that was cheap and cute, and that I could wear more than once. The theme for my dance was A Night in the City, and I thought that this dress matched the theme perfectly.

Hair

First I started off by spraying my hair with some heat protectant spray. I then clipped up my two top layers of hair. Next I curled the layers using my Remington Curling Wand (Target, $25). I started at the roots and curled from the middle of the wand to the smaller end. I then re-curled my ends, and sprayed it again with heat protectant spray to keep the curls in for longer.

Makeup

First I applied a matte primer to my face and primed my eyelids. Next I put on my foundation and concealer. Then I used an elf eyeshadow palette (Target, $6) and I applied a shimmery champagne shade all over my lids, up to my eyebrows. Then I applied a shimmery gold shade over my lids. Next I took a matte black shade and blended it at the outer corners of my eyelids.

After that, I used my Nyx Super Skinny Eye Marker (eyeliner) in Carbon Black and drew a medium sized line, adding a flick at the end to make a cat eye.

Next, I applied a medium shade of pink blush to my cheeks to give my face a bit more color.  I then put on my Burt’s Bees Lip Color in Redwood Forest (CVS Pharmacy, $8)

And that completes the look! I hope you guys enjoyed this post, and see you next time!
