Spring Nail Art: Pastel Water Marble

Hey guys! I’m super happy because over the weekend, I have reached over 50 followers and that is half of my goal of 100 followers by October. Thank you guys for all of your support, and I would really appreciate it if you would give word out to your friends or other blogs that you think would like me to help me to reach my goal.

With that aside, today I wanted to do a nail art post because I’ve only done one of these before, but I got such positive feedback so I wanted to show you guys something different this time. I am showing you how to do water-marbling on your nails. I used pastel colors to go along with springtime, but of course you can use whatever colors you would like. Let’s hop right into this!

What you will need:

  • A small bowl that you don’t mind getting nail polish in ( I cut the top off a a plastic cup but I would not recommend doing this if you are doing this for a long time because the nail polish will eat away at the plastic)
  • 5 or more nail polish colors
  • A toothpick
  • 15-20 q-tips
  • Chapstick (optional) or nail polish remover

Step 1:

Fill your bowl up with water to a point where you can dip your finger (upside-down) in easily and keep it flat

Step 2: (optional)

If you have Chapstick, cover the skin around your fingernails up to the middle of each finger. This just makes the removal of excess nail polish much easier.

Step 3:

Pour your nail plush colors on the water in the order you would like, pouring smaller and smaller circles in the middle of the others.

Pink: Sally Hansen Triple Shine in Pixie Slicks

Yellow: Sally Hansen Triple Shine in Lemon Shark

Blue: Color Club in Factory Girl

Green: Covergirl Outlast Stay Brilliant in Salt Water Taffy

Purple: Elf in Lilac

Step 4:

Apply a base coat to your nails if you would like.

Step 5:

Take your toothpick and carefully make designs in the nail polish. Don’t mix it too much, or the designs won’t be visible on your nails.

Step 5: Dip your nails into the designs by placing your finger in upside-down and pull it out.

Step 6: Take some q-tips and remove the excess nail polish. You will need nail polish remover for this step if you did not have the Chapstick.

Step 7: Apply a topcoat to your nails if you would like.

(Yes, I know there is still nail polish around my nails but it took forever to dry and to get off so I didn’t have time to take a picture of the final look)

And you are done! This is pretty easy, and looks so cool when it’s done. However, it is time consuming, but it’s great if you have a lot of free time or you get bored and don’t know what to do. I hope you guys enjoyed this post, and see you next time!

5 Adorable Spring Outfits ðŸŒ¸ðŸŒ·ðŸŒ¹ðŸŒ»

Hey guys! Since yesterday was the first day of spring, I wanted to show you some spring outfits. Hopefully you’ll get some inspiration from me. Let’s hop right into this post!

Outfit 1:

I think this is a cute, whimsical, bright outfit that would be perfect for going out with friends. This outfit is great for many things, just don’t wear it if you’re going to sweat because it will ruin the white shirt.

White watermelon button-down shirt: Delia*s, $20

Aqua skinny jeggings: Charlotte Russe, $25

Brown Leopard Cole Haan Sandals: From a friend

Outfit 2:

This is a more feminine outfit, with sort of an edge to it. I think this one is super pretty and simple, and I bet I will wear it all the time this spring.

Sheer Peach Drop-Waist Tank Top: Pacsun, free (for more information, see my spring haul post)

Light-wash Straight-leg Ripped jeans: Target, $20

Pink and black platform flip-flops: Target, $8

Outfit 3:

This is probably the most girly outfit out of all of these. I think this is a nice, charming and dainty outfit that would look great on someone when they are going shopping. I am so obsessed with the back of this top. I wear it all of the time, so I’ll probably wear this outfit all of the time too.

Floral strappy cross-back crop top: Pacsun, $15

Pink paisley skater skirt: Aeropostale, on sale for $6

Pink and black platform flip-flops: same as above outfit^

Outfit 4:

I think this is a more casual, comfy outfit that I would probably wear around the house or out grocery shopping. This one is more suited to warmer spring weather, but it can be easily modified.

Teal bow-back t-shirt: JCPenney’s, $20

High-waisted black, blue and green floral drawstring shorts: Vanity Fair Outlet, $15, $5 on sale

All Black Vans: Vans, $50

Outfit 5:

I love this outfit, whether I wear it in spring or in summer. It’s just so cute, and girly.

Black Daisy Sundress: Burlington, $20

Black Bow Flats: Charming Charlie’s, $18

That’s all for today’s post! I hope you guys enjoyed it and will get style inspiration from it, and see you next time!

Beauty Product Reviews 2015

Hi guys! First off, I just want to say happy St. Patrick’s Day to all of you Irish and non-Irish people out there. I’m part Irish, and I enjoyed an Irish dinner tonight. With that aside, today I wanted to show you guys some beauty products and give you my reviews and personal opinions on them. I don’t know about you guys, but for me, springtime feels like a time where I want to buy a ton of makeup, whether I’ve heard great things about it, or it looks cool so I want to try it, and I thought that this post would really help you guys if you feel like I do. So let’s get right into it!

Face

Maybelline Fit Me Matte Poreless Foundation (112 Natural Ivory):

Five Stars out of Five Stars

I had never used foundation up until this month and I got this based on a recommendation from a family member. For my first ever foundation, this one is fantastic. It’s a liquid foundation, and it’s pretty easy to apply. You don’t even need that much of it for full coverage. This is a good match to my skin tone, it blends easily, and it feels lightweight, not heavy at all. Maybelline usually makes good products, so I would definitely recommend this to someone who is just starting out.

Equate sensitive cleansing facial wipes:

3 stars out of 5 stars

These makeup wipes are okay in my opinion. There’s no problem with the texture or anything like that. However, these do not have much makeup-removing solution in them. They are harder to use because of this, and for that reason, I have to rub these harder on my face to actually remove anything. I wouldn’t recommend these over something else, but I would buy these over an unknown brand.

Maybelline Dreamlumi Touch Highlighting Concealer

4 stars out of 5 stars

This concealer is pretty good. It’s not as good as other types I’ve used, but it’s good enough to compare plus it’s cheaper. This is a concealer with a built-in brush so when you twist the bottom, it comes up through the brush. I think this concealer is a bit weird because when it comes out onto the brush, it’s a reddish color, and it stays that color on your skin until you blend it in. Then it becomes the right color. That kind of bothers me, but I’m a bit OCD so that’s just my personal opinion. Also, I just prefer pencil/crayon concealer.

L.A. Colors Blush in BC141 Natural

5 Stars out of 5 stars

This kind of looks like a cheap drugstore blush, but it’s actually very good. This color suits me very well, and this stays on all 6 hours I’m at school. If I’m not wearing bronzer, this is pretty much the only blush I will wear. I wear this ALL THE TIME.

IMG_1949

Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Rose Bush? (I’m not sure of the name because it wore off but this is probably pretty close to the actual name)

4 stars out of 5 stars

This is  a peachy-coral color blush I bought around the beginning of the school year, and I’ve used it throughout. This is the first cream blush I have ever bought, but I think it is super nice. I prefer powder blush, but I think this is better suited for spring and summer.  I think this color is really pretty, and looks nice on. However, this type of blush does not last as long as powder blush.

Maybelline Great Lash mascara:

4.5 stars out of 5 stars

This mascara is the very first mascara I ever tried, and it’s great! I compared this to another mascara, but the other one’s wand is differently shaped than this one, and I don’t like that one as much.  I love this one because you can tell that there is mascara on with only one coat on, and it doesn’t clump that much.

Lips

Maybelline color sensational lipstick in make me pink

5 stars out of 5 stars

I absolutely love this lipstick! The color is lovely pink-purple color that is perfect for springtime, and your lips do not show through it at all. I would recommend this lipstick to anyone.

Others

Garnier Fructis Miracle Dry Oil:

4 stars out of 5 stars

I would definitely only recommend the use of this in summer, unless you have naturally dry hair. This is great if the sun dries out your hair. It will make your hair look shiny and beautiful. However, do not use more than one or two sprays in all of your hair or it will look oily.

Children’s Benadryl itch cooling gel:

5 stars out of 5 stars

This gel is my favorite thing in the summer! It helps to make your sunburns and bug bites less itchy and feel relieved. The normal version does the same thing, but this one is better for those who have sensitive skin.

That’s all for my beauty reviews today! I hope you enjoyed my post, and see you next time!

Spring Haul 2015! Pacsun, Kohls and more

Hey guys! I’ve been waiting a while and collecting clothes for this post and I finally bought enough and I can’t wait to show you! I love doing hauls and showing you guys what I got. So let’s get right into it!

Kohls:

Black Tropical Lace Bralette- $20

I love the pattern on this! I think that it would be super adorable to wear under low-cut tops or tops with large armholes.

Cream and blue sheer sunflower tank- $13

I love the colors of this, plus the sunflower pattern. It has a nice vintage feel that I really like.

Blue tie-dye high-necked crop top- $12 on sale, originally $40

I love the colors and the tie-dye look of this. I’m also obsessed with crop tops and I think this would look great with light-wash high-waisted shorts in spring or in the summer.

Black floral and pink reversible racerback cami- $8 on sale, originally $38

I absolutely love how this is reversible! I love both sides of this, and since it’s reversible, it’s more versatile for me which makes it more worth buying.

Black mesh paneled leather skirt dress- $17.40 on sale, originally $58 This dress came out last fall, and I was in love with it but it was way too expensive. Then I saw it when I was shopping and it was on clearance so I knew I had to get it.

Target:

Light-wash ripped straight-leg jeans- $20

I have been wearing the heck out of these the past few weeks! These are my favorite pair of jeans for the springtime and they match a lot of things! I would definitely recommend these to someone who is looking for good quality ripped jeans.

Black floral sheer lace crochet top- $18

I love how boho this looks! This type of style is really trendy this spring and summer. I like to pair this with the ripped jeans shown above for an edgy twist.

Camo pocket tee- $13

I got this because for some reason, I feel like I need something camo in my closet; I don’t really know why. I also needed more simple tees so I figured this one is great.

Racerback gray insect cami- $10

I don’t really know why I got this. The insects are kind of cute and this was cheap so I just bought it. It would also make a good workout shirt.

Black strappy-back bikini top- $15

Target always has amazing swimwear, and when I saw this top it was live at first sight. The straps give it a nice, unique look and black is so easy to pair different bottoms with. Plus, this fit me perfectly so I knew I had to get it.

Pacsun:

White floral cross strap back crop top- $12

I perused the buy one, get two free rack in Pacsun again and it was definitely not a mistake! (The next two items were free because of this rack.) I found this beautiful crop top, with a cute criss-cross strappy back that I love.

Black and white daisy print scoop neck crop top- free

The neckline on this crop top is sort of low, but the pattern on this is super cute and I love it.

Peach drop-waist sheer tank top- free

I love the color of this, and the drop-waist detailing was a nice girly touch. I will wear this all the time this spring.

Vans:

Purple and orange Galaxy unisex vans- $50

This is my big splurge, but I love Galaxy stuff and vans. Galaxy is very in style right now. I get lots of compliments on these (most of them are from guys!). These are super cool tennis shoes that I think everyone should have.

That’s all for this haul! I hope you guys enjoyed it, and see y’all next time!

Spring Makeup Look

Hey guys! Today I wanted to show y’all a nice, soft spring makeup look. I was going to show you two looks, but I didn’t have enough time, so comment below if you want to see the other one next time. This is a nice makeup look for if you’re going out with friends or just going outside in general. I love this look, and I’m going to wear it all the time this spring. Let’s get started!

Step 1: Apply foundation if you would like. If not, apply concealer where needed.

Step 2: Take a bronzer that looks good with your skin tone (I used a bronzer with more red tones than green tones for my skin) and brush it on to highlight your cheekbones. Then blend it with a blending brush. The bronzer I used is called Matte Glow by Ulta.

The bronzer I used is the one on top, the one on the bottom has more greenish tones.

Step 3: Apply eyeshadow primer to your eyelids and let it dry.

Step 4: Take a shimmery medium-dark orchid-purple eyeshadow and apply it to your lower eyelids. I used Hopeless Romantic by Ulta.

Step 5: Take a shimmery brown eyeshadow and apply it to the creases of your eyelids. Blend them with your fingers. I used Social Climber by Ulta.

Step 6: Take a dark brown eyeliner (I used pencil to create a softer look) and line your upper eyelids with a medium thickness line. I used Mink by Ulta.

Step 7: Take a light brown/ copper eyeliner and starting from the outer edge of your bottom eyelid, trace your lower lash line midway to your eye. This just adds a little bit of a smokier look. I used Bronze by Ulta.

Step 8: Apply a brownish-black colored mascara to your upper and lower lashes. Use as little as possible. I use Maybelline Great Lash Mascara in Brownish-Black.

Step 9: Finish off with a light pink lipstick. I used Strawberry Milk by Nyx.

And that’s all! It’s pretty easy, and only takes about 20 minutes. It’s beautiful, soft and feminine when you’re done. This is one of my favorite makeup looks so far, and I hope you guys liked it as well. See you next time!
