10 Health + Beauty Tips and Tricks You Need to Know

Hey everybody! ☺ Today I wanted to tell you some tips and tricks to make things easier for you in terms of your makeup, health, etc. So here they are:

1. To get static out of your hair: Rub a dryer sheet over it after you brush it.

2. If you don’t have any racer back bras and you need one for the top you are wearing, take a paperclip and put it through the back loop of one the straps, then hook the paperclip onto the other strap.

3. To prevent clumps in your mascara: Put your mascara in your bra as you’re getting ready. It might sound weird, but it’s way more effective than pumping the wand. Plus pumping the wand makes air pockets in the mascara which will make it go bad sooner.

4. If you have period cramps: Eat a banana. It helps, and it’s healthy as well.

5. Put moisturizer on your face everyday, especially in the winter. This will prevent dry and scaly skin, as well as making your skin feel softer.

6. When painting your nails, put Vaseline or chapstick around your nails. When you need to remove it, just take a tissue and wipe it off.

7. If you have a paper cut, put chapstick on it and it will hurt less.

8. When you have greasy hair  and don’t have enough time to shower, instead of using dry shampoo, rub a small amount of baby powder into the roots of your hair, then brush it through.

9. When applying eyeliner, stretch out your eyelid and hold down your eyelashes to keep your eyelid still and to make it easier to trace the outer edge of you eyelid. This also makes it a bit easier to see where you might have missed a spot when applying eyeliner.

10. When you want your perfume to last all day, apply it to the base of your neck, behind your ears, on your wrists, and behind your knees.

I got it from Kohl’s, for about $60-$80. (I’m not exactly sure how much it costed)

But this bedspread is also on Ebay if you’d rather get it from there.

Valentine’s Day Makeup Idea ❤

Hi everyone! Today I went shopping with one of my friends and I got some stuff for spring this year and I’m super excited, so ;et me know in the comments if I should do a spring haul once I get enough clothes. Today, I wanted to show you a cute Valentine’s Day makeup idea. Let’s get right into it!

1. Apply moisturizer to your face to ensure it doesn’t dry out over the course of the day and wait a few minutes to let it dry.

 2. Apply concealer where needed, and foundation if you want. Then blend it with a blending sponge.

3. Apply a medium-dark pink shade of blush where it would highlight your cheekbones and blend it in.

4. Put some eye shadow primer on your eyelids, rub it in, and let it dry.

5. Take a shimmery light pink eye shadow and apply it to your eyelids.

6. Put on some eyeliner, but don’t extend the line. (Try to keep it simple)

7. Once your eyeliner dries, put some mascara on your upper and lower lashes.

 8. Apply a bright pink lipstick to your lips.

IMG_1790 IMG_1794 IMG_1798

And you are done! This is pretty easy, and only takes about 10-15 minutes. I think is adorable, and looks great as a spring makeup look as well. I hope you enjoyed today’s post and see you guys next time!

SIDENOTE: On Monday, I have to ship my computer back to the computer company to get the cracked screen repaired, so I cannot post next Tuesday, next Saturday, and I might be able to post on the following Tuesday, but I don’t know. So don’t be alarmed if I don’t post for about a week; I just won’t have access to WordPress. And yes, my WordPress app still is not working.

DIY- Cute Pillows!

Hello everybody! So yesterday I found out that I had a major virus on my computer and we had to call the computer company, but now that is all resolved so I could get to my post today. Today I wanted to show you guys my way to make your own pillows. It’s very easy, and only takes about 20-30 minutes. So let’s get right into it!

Step 1:

Pick out your fabric. Cut off any uneven edges and make sure the fabric will be big enough for a pillow. Lay your fabric out so it is laying with the right side up. Fold it in half so the side facing up is the incorrect side. (If you don’t know what it will look like, the incorrect side will be paler than the other side)

Step 2:

Thread your needle with a thread closely matching the color of your fabric.

Step 3: Starting sewing the fabric together, so that on one side of the fabric there are very small stiches that you can hardly see and that are spread out a bit, and on the other side very large stiches that are close together.

IMG_1735

IMG_1736

Step 4: Sew up most of the fabric, leaving a small-medium sized hole.

IMG_1737

Step 5: Reach inside of the hole and pull the pillow the other way so it is no longer inside-out. It is easier to start by grabbing the corners and pulling them out first.

IMG_1739

Step 6: Taking some Polyfil, (about $5-$10, Joann) carefully stuff your pillow starting with the corners and the bottom and build up the stuffing to the top.

Step 7: Re-thread your needle and start sewing up your hole. Sew it with a different technique. Take your fabric and fold in the rough edges and sew it up by sticking your needle in the side of it and pulling it over and through to make loops over the folded fabric. Continue doing this until the hole is sewn up.

Step 8:(optional) Take some type of decoration and sew/hot glue it on. I had some paper flowers from Michael’s, $3 and I used super glue to attach them because they were too delicate to sew on.

IMG_1746

And you are done! This is super simple, and looks so cute on your bed when you are done. I hope you will try this craft, and see you guys next time!

DIY Valentine’s Day Room Decor!

Hi everyone. disregard that last post if you saw it because I think I can get this posted today. So today I wanted to show you some easy DIYs to make your room decorated for Valentine’s day. Let’s get started!

DIY Pom-poms:

What you will need:

IMG_1680

  • Pink or red yarn
  • scissors
  • a fork
  • wire

1: Start by wrapping your yarn around your fork until it gets to this thickness:

IMG_1690

2: Cut your yarn and tuck the ends into the yarn wrapped around the fork.

IMG_1691

3: Slip the yarn off of the fork and set it aside. Take your wire and cut about a 7-8 inch piece of it off. Then wrap your wire tightly around the yarn in the opposite direction the yarn is going, and twist it tightly.

IMG_1698

4: Cut the loops of yarn in half. Then, cut the yarn even shorter so it has a fuzzy texture, and make sure the yarn is all the same length. Cut the wire down so it doesn’t stick out, then arrange the yarn so it doesn’t show the wire.

IMG_1709

And you are done! This is super simple, and cute as well! These would look great on string lights, or glued to candleholders in your room.

DIY Paper flowers:

I have two ways to make some cute paper flowers, so here they are!

#1:

What you will need:

  • White Tissue paper
  • Scissor
  • a pink or red marker
  • bobby pins
  • green floral sticks

IMG_1715

2: Roughly tear the edges of your tissue paper, then color them with the color of your choice.

IMG_1718

3: Take off the bobby pin and unfold the paper. Then fold the paper in half, and shape it to a flower shape. Tape your flower to your floral stick and cover the tape in floral tape.

IMG_1721

#2:

What you will need:

  • Red or pink crepe paper
  • Scissors
  • tape
  • Floral Tape
  • floral sticks

1: Cut a medium amount of crepe paper from the roll, and fold it into a small square.

IMG_1725

2: Cut off the top corners, so the to of the square is rounded.

3: Unfold the square, and line the rounded parts up unevenly.

IMG_1727

4: Fold the paper in half two times. Then shape it in a flower shape, and tape your flower to your floral stick and cover the tape in floral tape.

  • Black or white lace ribbon
  • Scissors
  • glue
  • A candle

1: If your candle has a label or sticker, peel it off.

2: Measure how much lace you will need and cut the right amount.

3: Put your glue on your candle in a zig-zag pattern where you want your lace.

IMG_1712

4: Place your lace over the glue, and with a paper towel, press down the lace. This will also help to get up the excess glue.

IMG_1713

And you are done! This is so simple, and looks great year-round.

These are all of my Valentine’s Day DIYs, and I hope you will try them! See you next time!

DIY Lemon Vanilla Lip Scrub

Hey guys. So if you’re like me, in the winter, your lips get really chapped and they peel. You have to apply chapstick practically every 30 minutes, and when you try to put on lipstick, it looks horrible and you can tell that your lips are chapped. Well today, I have a DIY for you to solve that problem. I’m going to show you guys how to make your own lip scrub.

Step 1:

IMG_1655

Put 1 teaspoon of honey in a small microwavable container and microwave it for 5 seconds.

Step 2:

IMG_1656

Add a teaspoon of oil to the honey. (I used canola oil, but you can use coconut oil, olive oil, sunflower oil, etc.) Mix it in so it has a slightly thinner consistency.

Step 3:

IMG_1657

Add two teaspoons of granulated sugar to your mixture. Then add a very small amount of vanilla extract and a few drops of lemon juice. Don’t add too much liquid, or the scrub will be too thin.

Step 4:

IMG_1658

Add your scrub to a small container.

Small screw-top container: Joann

How to use:

Apply with your fingers in a circular motion. Don’t use too much, a little goes a long way.

Wait about 30 seconds, then gently wipe it off with a wet cotton ball or cotton pad.

And you are done! I love this, especially during the winter. It makes your lips super smooth and soft. I hope you enjoyed this DIY, and see you next time!
